UNDERAGE BOYS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP   11/09/2018

The U13 'A' Championship County Final took plan on Saturday afternoon in O’Connor Park with St Manchans Gaels losing out to St Rynaghs on a scoreline of 4-10 to 2-07. This was an enthralling match that was end to end for the full 60 minutes. The scoreline does not do justice to how close the game was with St Rynaghs scoring 2 goals in the closing minutes. St Manchans had the better of the first half and led at half time 1-04 to 0-05 thanks to a Conor Fox goal. St Manchans extended that lead early on in the second half through a Luke Kelly goal to lead 2-04 to 0-05. However St Rynaghs didn’t lie down and were very economical with their chances scoring with less of the ball. On 52 minutes they eventually took the lead and saw the game out. Congratulations to the team and management on what was a very successful campaign, finishing as League champions and Championship runners-up.

The U13 'B' Shield Final between St Manchan's Gaels and Gracefield takes place this Friday in Ballinamere, with a throw-in of 6.30pm.

Our U15s have a “do or die” game away to Edenderry on Monday, where the winners will progress to the knockout stages, and the losers will be out. Throw-in is 6.15pm.

Our U17s play their last group game v Ballinamere/Durrow on Wednesday evening in Pullough at 6.30, in another “do or die” fixture. Whoever wins this game will finish second in the group and qualify for the County Final against Shamrocks, who top the group.
