LADIES FOOTBALL   07/08/2018

St Manchan's Ladies U16s got their Championship campaign back on track with a comprehensive victory at home to Rhode in Tubber on Saturday 28th July. It was nip-and-tuck all through the first half, but our girls got on top in the second and eventually ran out comfortable winners with a flurry of late scores. Our U14s had faced the same opposition earlier in the week, when Rhode came to Tubber on the Monday night for a Round 5 League game. After a very tight contest, our Ladies emerged victorious on a scoreline of 5-09 to 3-07. Well done to U12 girls Sheola Rosney and Katie Doolan, who stepped up when they were needed to make their U14 debuts in that game, and both performed brilliantly. There is no rest for our U14 girls however, as they play the last round of the championship group stage on Monday 30th July in Tubber v Shamrocks, throw-in 7.30.

Our Junior Ladies played a Challenge Match in Tubber on Tuesday evening v Caulry, and although the Westmeath side proved to be very strong opposition, it was a good run-out for our Ladies ahead of the upcoming competitive fixtures.

Thanks to everybody who supported our bag-packing fundraiser in SuperValu Moate on Friday evening, particularly Buckley's SuperValu and our bag-packing volunteers.
