Our Seniors were back in Championship action on Thursday evening last against Walsh Island in glorious sunshine in Cappincur. After a tight start to the match Tubber eventually took control with two quickfire goals. The first of these was a well worked move between Bernard Allen and Brian Daly which ended up with Bernard slotting the ball home. From the proceeding kickout Shane Kinahan won the ball and went on a powerful run through the middle and caught the goalie of guard with a lob shot to find the net. Tubber went in at half time leading on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-06. Tubber extended that lead to 9 points early in the second half and looked to be in cruise control. However Walsh Island had different ideas and slowly took control and eventually narrowed the gap down to 1 point. A fine Joe Kinahan goal steadied the ship again for Tubber in what was a nervy finish that saw us run out three point winners.
